Oceanview, Single-family Home for Rent.
This home is available now. It is located in the community named Costa Hermosa, which is located about 12 minutes south of Rosarito, and about 50 minutes south of the border. The house is located behind the large Jesus statue.

The streets within the community are paved so you can drive on the pavement all the way to the house. But you have to drive on dirt about 100 yards to get to the community. You also have to drive under the El Morro bridge to get to the community. The El Morro bridge is the entry to the beach area which is popular with surfers at the Km 38 area.

The home is about 4000 sq ft including the oversized two-car garage and three patios. Homes in Baja are generally measured from the exterior of the walls, including all the construction. The home has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, plus an optional entertainment or a media room.

The home is semi-furnished. There is currently one king-size bed and mattress, dining room table and chairs, and one couch set with a coffee table. You would need to bring the rest of the furniture. Any furniture you don't want we would as you to store in the garage and to return it to its place at the end of your stay.

First Level:
The first level is the street level of the house and has the garage and exterior stairs the lead up to the 2nd level of the house. In the garage is the underground water storage tank. Also in the garage is the large water pump for house water pressure and the large water heater.

The garage doors have remote controls for keeping inside your car and there are also controls to open the garage doors inside the garage at the stairs attached to the wall. Inside the garage is a locking iron door between where the cars park and the stairs to up to the rest of the house.

From the first level, in addition to the exterior stairs, there are also interior stairs that go up to the second level.

Second Level:
The 2nd level of the house is on top of the garage. It has great ocean and valley views.

It is a large area, maybe about 1200 square feet. It has the living area, dining area, large patio with valley and ocean view, fireplace, pantry, kitchen, media or den, bedroom, and a bathroom with a shower.

The kitchen includes the refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. The open kitchen has nice wood cabinets and granite countertops. The pantry is spacious and is finished with a wood and glass door.

This level has the main front wood door. Just inside the door is an alarm system. The alarm system is working now but if you want third party monitoring service you would have to subscribe to that and it costs about $30 dollars a month.

There is a brick gas fireplace but you would need to bring your own logs. It is unknown to me if wood works in this fireplace.

Just outside the front door is a small dog run or enclosed space for your pet.

Third Level:
The third level of the house has the master bedroom, master bathroom, two additional bedrooms, bathroom, and large covered patio.

The third level of the home has high wood beam ceilings. At the top of the stairs is a nice oceanview landing with extra space for a desk, bistro chairs, play area, or whatever you like.

The master bedroom has a very nice ocean and valley view. It has a walk-in closet, granite vanity with two sinks, and a jetted tub with ocean views.

The master also has access to the very nice ocean view patio.

Also on this third level are two bedrooms, both with tall ceilings and nice size closets. Between and connecting each bedroom is the bathroom. This bathroom is where there are hookups for the washer and dryer. With a washer and dryer in place, this space is a bit tight but is very functional.

Major House Benefits:
Oceanviews. They are great.
45 minutes south of the border and 12 minutes south of Rosarito.
Low rent, big house. A lot of bedrooms and floor space for the money.
Quality and well-built house.
Responsible owners. They will fix things and are friendly.
One of the largest 2 car garages available. You can park two cars and still have plenty of space for storage.
Alarm system already built-in.
Outdoor enclosed space for pets located just outside the front door. You have to keep it very clean.
Good variety of restaurants within 1 to 3 miles of the community.
Views of surfing.

House Inconveniences:
The community is very rural and the homes are not conforming. Some homes are big and well taken care of while other homes are unfinished. There is a manufactured home as part of the view.
The house does not have a heater. You will have to use space heaters that you would supply. The house can get cold because it is made out of block.
There currently is not a washer and dryer and if you want one please request it. Washer and dryer hookups are in the third level bathroom and take up a large amount of space as the space allocated for them was not sufficient.
It is important to know that water is not supplied by the state water company, the CESPT. Water is supplied by truck and the truck delivers water to a built-in cistern. This water is pumped up to the rest of the house by a water pump. You have to buy the water directly from the truck driver. You have to monitor the water level in your large water cistern.
The community does not have designated security.

The house does not have air conditioning as most houses in northern Baja do not have air conditioning given the ocean breezes.
The house is pretty safe however as there are protective iron gates over the front door and there is the alarm system.

Utilities are not included. You would pay for your monthly water, electricity, propane gas, internet, and television service. internet would most likely be with IZZI. You have to call the gas company to fill up your gas tank. You have to call the water truck people to fill up your cistern.

Costa Hermosa is partly rustic with some very nice houses mixed in. Some streets are paved and many are dirt.

The community does not have designated security, does not have guards on duty, and is not a gated community.

Utility lines are above ground.

There are plenty of good places to eat that have been open for years near the community. There are supermarkets in Rosarito, and a new supermarket in Puerto Nuevo which has become a favorite.
