This property on our local "mls-like" system is not my listing, but I can tell you that you will not own the land for this house. In general I don't recommend land lease, because it is just a lease. Land appreciates over the long-term, while houses depreciate over the long-term. That is why we get to depreciate investment homes on our USA taxes. So in the future you will be selling a depreciated house if it is not well-kept. If you continue to invest in the house to upkeep it, then you also run the risk of the land lease not being renewed, and then you are stuck with walking a way from the house, or moving the house. It is very safe to say that a house on a land lease is very difficult to sell. On the flip side, it is also safe to say that some land lease communities are the highest and best use for the landlord, and therefore, currently, renters feel safe. But also, highest and best use does change over time as the economic and other outside factors change.
